The Power of the California Carve-Out!
Our workers’ compensation loss ratio is among the very lowest in the industry and that is no accident. On top of a fully staffed team dedicated to safety and loss control, Samuel Hale is one of only a few California organizations that has been granted a powerful “Carve-Out” agreement under labor code section 3201.7. Under the “Carve-Out” we provide the same benefit structure as the traditional system, however, the manner in which we distribute benefits and how we resolve disputes has been improved. – Unique Benefit Delivery – Our approach to treating our injured workers is different than the traditional system. We are committed to a higher level of medical care for the injured employees without all the red tape.
We focus on communicating with the employees and making them feel well taken care of and demystify the claims process. We have our own medical director who looks at every claim to assist in getting our injured employees prompt and effective treatment. He also helps qualify the physicians in our limited MPN and supports them so they can focus on the quality of care and not the red tape associated with occupational care. We deploy common sense rules for how long employees have to object to treatment and where they may go for care. Another unique attribute is that the system is designed to change as necessary, unlike the statutory system. “Carve-Out” systems show that statistically, employees are more satisfied, get their settlements quicker, and return-to-work faster.
